HOCKEY.

TO-DAY'S MATCHES. The Wairarapa Hockey Championship fixtures will be continued to-day, when two senior matches will be played. At Lansdowne Excelsior seniors and- St. Matthew's will try conclusions. Both the sides expjet to have their full strength in the field, and an excellent contest should be witnessed. At Carter ton the local eleven will do battle with Featherston. Cartertoil should notch another win. In the junior grade St. Matthew ' and Excelsior will play on the No. 2 ground when a grtod fast gams should be witnessed.' At Grey town, the Martinborough and Greytown teams will meet, and at Dalefield, Carterton and the local team will try conclusions. Hockey enthusiasts should have quite a good day's sport. The Lansdowne matches will commence at 3 o'clock.

MEETING OF -MANAGEMENT COMMITTER. A meeting of tlie Management Committee of the Wairarapa Hockey Association was held last evening, the president, Mr .1. L. Hughes, presiding. The treasurer's report, showing cash in hand £'2l, Mas adopted. Letters from Sir Walter Buchanan, Messrs H. H. Donald, J. L. Hughes and ,W. Pragndl w.'re received, donating a. guinea each towards the Association's funds. I A hearty vote of thanks was passed to these gentlemen for their generous gifts. The Manawatu Hockey Association forwarded a challenge for the Nordon Oup. The date for playing same was not arranged, owing to no notification coming to hand from the N.Z. H.A. Mr A. C. Pragnell was appointed senior sole selector, and Messrs Rosson, J. Fisher and J. Gaffer-a junior selection committee. Mr F. Fairbrotlier and the secretary were appointed a postponement committee. Arrangements were made to hold the annual tournament on June 3rd. Nominations for same, to close on May '27 th. It was decided to commence the school competitions a-t an early date, details of which wero left in the hands of Messrs W. Fisher and W. Bannin. Tlie Nicol-Pragnell Cup was allotted to this competition.
