A firm with such large.stocks as that of "The Academy" realise that, to keep free of old stock md always have room for the new, they benefit in this direction by having*a yearly sale. During t)Wis period all profits are cut right out, and goods are sold at cost and less th in cost to .clear. Folks wonder how it is that such large discounts can lie given. .Well, it could not be done for more than a sale period. It is just a matter of turning as much stock as possible into money to facilitate the work of stocktaking, and perhaps improve the balance.
