WELLINGTON LAND BOARD ELECTION. TO CROWN LEASEHOLDERS. AND GENTLEMEN Having at the request of a number of Grown tenants accepted nomination to a vacancy on the Wellington Land Board, I respectfully submit my candidature for your esteemed support. I am a practical farmer and have had considerable experience in all mat-; ters pertaining to land settlement, being the holder of a section of originally Crowin land, which a few years ago was all standing bush, and which I have now all cleared, grassed, and subdivided and brought to a successful issue. I am an ardent advocate of land settlement, and am in absolute sympathy with the small settjer, knowing full well the disabilities^and difficulties with which fanners have to contend, particularly as regards roading facilities, education difficulties, etc. Whil? th© functions of the Land Board should at all times bo entirely removed from political influence, I feel that its members should possess a practical and sympathetic knowledge »of the requirements of small settlement and use their best efforts to administer the Act without fear or favour, and in full sympathy with settlers where their wide discretionary powers permit. The present representation on the Land Board is in the hands o<f gentleman, all of whom are resident in the iiiorthern portion of the district. As the Wairarapa has now a very considerable area under the jurisdiction of the Wellington Land Board, and a further large area is being surveyed for settlement, it is felt that representation one in touch with these lands and. resident iin> the lower portion of the Board's district is desirable. I therefore respectfully solicit your consideration for your fellow farmers, and should you favour mo "with your support, it will be my earn est endeavour to give full time and unfailing attention in the' interests of all tenants under the Board's jurisliction.— Yours faithfully,

T. 0. HAYCOCK. "Homebum," Martinhorough. April, 1913. WELLINGTON LAND BOARD ELECTION. TO THE GROWN TENANTS. A DIES AND GENTLEMEN,I am again a Candidate for the seat occupied by me for the past four years on the Wellington Land Board, ff my past services on the Board warrant my being again returned as your representative, I shall deem it an honour, and your interests shall, as in the past, receive my closest attention. H. T. ELLINGHAM. t'e Arttt, Haeo&a.
