THE RED-FEDS.
What the think is (says the Chnstchurch Pj-ese) made very clear in the current number of their official organ. In discussing the municipal eelctions, it dwells upon the necessity for solid organisation, and observes: "If we go forth, and by maudlin sentimentality and political trickery, delude people into voting our ticket without any rjal understanding of the class position, we' may win position temporarily, hut we are bound in< the long run to suffer from, the inevitable reaction." This •is in criticism of those "Labour'' candidates who lacked the courage to admit frankly that they are in tlva same camp as the Red-Feds. What the "Workar" says is perfectly true. We confess that we prefer the out-and-out Revolutionary Socialist t'o the "Social Democrat" who pretends that hj? is independent of the Federation. After the conference in July, however, there ought not to bo much room left, for concealment of thos 1 .''Labor'' leaders'' who have ' 'deluded the people into voting" the federation ticket. Mr Semple and his, •friends may be relied upon to announce that they will not have half-and-half men in the "Labour".,machine.' The rail-sitters who have called themselves Social Democrats will have to declare themselves, and to take up a definite attitude on the methods and policies of the Red-Feds. Wo do .not envy them their uneasiness as July approaches.
