% WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. 0. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, this evening wired as follows: —
The barometer has fallen low in and southward of Cook Strait, -with westerly winds, strong to gale. Showery and squally weather has prevailed. Present indications are for high westerly winds, veering to increasing southerlies. Gold and ■stormy weather probable generally, with nun mid snow on higher levels. The barometer will probably rise everywhere to-mono w.
