MASTERTON GUN CLUB.
THE OPENING MATCH.
The Masterton Gun Club opened the season yesterday, at the old sale yards, when eighteen members took part in a sweepstake shoot, with £5 added money from the club. The fact that tliere was such a .good attendance augurs well for the ftiture of the club, which, since its initiation!,, has produced s6~ae of the crack shots of the Dominion. For the first match of the season, the shooting yesterday was remarkably good, three competitors only (missing one bird, while quite a number had nineteen, eighteen and seventeen to their credit. The winner was R. Buick, who won in a shoot-off from J .Gunn and J Harvey. The scores were as follow:—B.* Buick 20 (£5 10s), J. Guim 20 (£2 ss), J. Harvey 20 (£1 2s 6d), F. Cooper 19, F. Taplin 19, H. Falloon 18, D. McLachlan 17, R. J. King 17, A. Toms 17, T. Upston' 17, W. Taplin 16, H. Rosson 16, H. Allen 15, T Harvev 15, J. Whitta.ker 13, H. Douglas 12, J. McCalraont 9, J. Laurenson 9.
