WAIFOUA STOCK SALE

Messrs Jainee .Macintosh and Co. report haying held their usual weekly sale in their Waipou* (Masterton) sale yards on Wednesday, .May 7th, when thej offered .< small yarding of sheep, but a good yarding of cattlo, which, owing to boisterous weather, Bid not meet with very good competition. 80LWAY STOCK SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: — Wo submitted a good yarding ot sheep to a good attendance of buyers. Competition was much brighter than at the prervious sale, and p'ices generally were considerably higher. Forward lambs made from 8s tid to 10s 6d, medium do. 7s 6d to Bs, empty owes to 11.6 3d, ewes in lamb to 8s 6d, dairy cows to £6. Messrs Dal get y and Co., Ltd., report as follows: —At our So!way sale yesterday sheep came forward well up to advertised numbers, and although the. weather was wet and boisterous, buyers attended in fair numbers, and bidding was brisk all through. We had some exceptionally good lines to offer, notably on. account of Mr J. Lord, Bideford, and keen competition took place for the different ines submitted on this client's behalf.

Compared with bust week's sale, prices for lambs were better by Is per head; good ewes also showed an advance of from Is to Is 6d. Every line we offered was disposed of under the hammer, and some of the prices realised were as follow : On account of Mr J. Lord: 200 woolly lambs 10s sd, 200 2-tooth ewes 16s, 2-tooth wethers 1.4s lOd, cull ewes 95,, s.m. empty ewes 10s lOd. On account of other vendors: B.F. lambs (small) Bs, cull lambs 5s 6d to 6s, empty ewes 8s to 9s 3d. No cattle were yarded.

PA-HIATUA STOCK SALE. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report _aa fallows:—We offered a pood yarding of sheep and a fair yarding of cattle. The demand for sheep was similar to the previous \wk. ' We however, -made a 'satisfactory clearance at last week's prices. Cattle sold iat late rates. Quotations Two and 4 tooth wethers 14s 3d to 15s lOd (according to condition), good empty ewets 12s to 12s 6d, good store ewes 8s 4d to 8s 7d, culls 3s 6d to 4s, mixed aged breeding ewes 12s lid, medium shorn lambs 8s to 8s 4-d, small lambs 4s 4d to as 2d, woolly lambs 9s 6d, fat cows 5s 7d, heifers in calf £3 18s 6d, good weaners £2 2s to £2 3s, mixed weanors 225.

CLEARING SALE AT MATARAWA.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Co., Ltd., report having held a successful sale of dairy oows, horses, farm implements, etc., on account of Mr W. J. Coulter, Matarawa, on Tuesday, There was a very fair attendance of buyers, and considering the time of the year the stock .realised good prices. The cows brought from £4 to , £8 10s, aged-, draught horses £l2 to £l9, w*hile the farm implements and sundries ©old at full current rates. JOHNSON VILLE STOCK SALE. JOHNSONVILLE, Last Night. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows :—: —A good entry of bullocks and sheep were yarded and s-otd readily at late ruling rates. Prime bullooka £ll to £ll 7s 6d, lighter £lO to £lO 10s, realers 23s to 48s, porkera 26s 6d to 375, prime heavy wethers 19s 7d, lighter 18s Id, prime heavy ewes 17s 4d to 17s 7d, medium ewes 14s lOd to 15s sd, extra prime lambs 14a 9d! to 15s, primelainb s 13s 6d to 14a Id. v
