ST. JOHN AMBULANCE BRIGADE
MASTERTON 'NURSING DIVISION
The annual general meeting of the St. John Ambulance Brigade was held in tlie Dominion Hall, Masterton, last evening, there being about 75 persons present, including thirteen members of the Carterton Nursing Division. Miss Clifford, of the. Pahnerbton Division, was also present. The annual i-eport and balancesheet wa.s read by the -secretaiy (M:isr Joy) and adopted. The District Superintendent (Mr Alex Donald), \vho occupied the chair, welcomed the visitors, an<} expressed the hope tlxat they would meet again at no distant date. Mr A. J. Parton, responded on behalf of the Carterton branch. Votes of thanks were accorded to Mr John Hunter for the use of the Dominion Hall, at a nominal cost; Mr Steele, for the use of a gramaphone at last .night's meeting; tc Miss Clarke, for operating same; a.nc" to tlie press.
Several presentations were made during the evening. Miss Gillespie being the recipient of several articles of silverware from the local Division. Miss Joy made the presentation. Misses Molly Collier, for assistance on Ambulance Saturday, and Rae Cole, model for the class, were presented with silver serviette rings by Miss Gillespie, on behalf of the local Brigade. During the evening a programme of pire, and are blindly searching for making and stretcher drill was gone tlu'ough in a very creditable manner, after which refreshments were provided. A hearty vote of thanks to the chair concluded tho meeting.
