MAN DROWNED.

(By Telegraph. —Press Association.) INVERICAHGILL, Last Night. Patrick Kennelly, a miner, aged 73. and single, was discovered in the Mataura river on Sunday by Constable Henderson- ,of Lumsden. Kennelly, who lived in a hut about two raules from Athol, had been missing since Friday, and it is thought he was drowned while attempting to ford the river. The body was removed to Garston, wJiere an inquest was held:, and a verdict returned to the effect that deceased's death was caused by shock, while trying to cross the Mataura river.
