NEW iEALANO FORECAST. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. (J. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, this evening wired as follows: —
Southerly winds, strong to gale, have prevailed with story weather generally aiid heavy rain in parts. The sens have been heavy on the East Coast, between Castlepoint and Oaniaru. A cyclonic area, centred about East Cape, still dominates. The weather conditions and the barometer have made little movement. Present indications are for southerly winds, strong to gale, with cold and damp weather and heavy rain probable in many parts of the country, with sleet and snow oiv the higher levels and in the south. The barometer is due to rise everywhere.
