A HOSPITAL QUESTION.
An election is to bo held to-day for n representative of the eombithd" boroughs of Eketahuna and Pahiatua on tlie Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. When the di'stribution of seats was first arranged, a mutual understanding was arrived at between the Eketahuna and Pahiatua Borough Councils that each should be alternately represented on the Board. The Pahiatua Borough has been represented by Messrs Crewe and McCardle for the term arranged, and now, when Eketahuna desires representation, Pahiatua brings a candidate into the Held. It seems u> us that the Pahiatua people are hardly "playing the game" in this matter. They are I under a moral, if not a legal obligation to give Eketahuna its share of representation. If this obligation is not resognised, and Pahiatua uses its numerical .strength to secure an advantage which to us appears to be unfair, it will be incuuVb.iit upon the Board to seek from the Government a more equitable method of representation.
