SCHOOL EXCURSION.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—On my *eturn to (Masterton today (Tuesday) I find.that in the report supplied you, it was stated that "the only mar to the day's proceedings wa.s the way in which people who returned to the train early to get good seats were turned out of their carriages, several of the latter having been previously reserved." This is a misleading statement. All the carriages were reserved—l2 for Masterton and Tenui, two for the suburban schools, Fernridge, St. Patrick's and Matahiwi. None were turned oiit of their seats as far as my ■school was concerned, as our carriage was locked on afrivel in Wellington, as is our usual custom, and reopened for us when we returned. St. Patricks, I understand, did the same. —I am, etc, HENRY EVANS. Chairman Fernridge School Committee. [Our .reporter inform* its that the cause for complaint, was in. regard to the second excursion train, from the Forty-Mile Bush, in respect to which, there appeared to he a good deal of (bungling at the Wellington station— Ed. Age.]
