AN EX-JUDGE'S OPINION.
Ex-Judge Button, of New Zealand, who has been on a visit to Sydney, has expressed the opinion to the Sydnev Morning Herald that at the next polls the whole of the Dominion will go "dry." The ex-Judge is quite.•entitled to his opinion, and to express it whenever, and wherever he thinks fit. It is only fair to say, however, that Mr Button is- an ardent Prohibitionist, and that he bases his opinion upon the vote taken at the last polls. Had he made inquiries he would have discovered that the poll of 1911 was not a true indication of public opinon. It was rather an expression of a preference for national prohibition against local option. Bxit it by no means encourages the belief that the country 19 prepared to take the bigger step.
