A SOUTHERN FATALITY.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, La«t Night. Richard John Sunderland, a baker, 68 vears of age, who was taken to the hospital on the <>th inst. suffering from injuries received by falling off a cart, died to-day. An inquest was opened this afternoon. The evidence of the junior House Surgeon was to the effect that when admitted, iSunderland was suffering, from a '.fracture of the base of the skull, and was also found to have heart disease. He remained in a semi-conscious state till three days ago, when he began to sink. Death was due to heart disease, accelerated by the injuries received. The inquest was adjourned till to-morrow morning.
