ATTEMPTED BOMB OUTRAGE. "DEATH IN TEN MINUTES." (Received Last Night, 0.5 o'clock.) LONDON, April 20. A bomb was placed on the steps of Smeaton Tower, Plymouth. It contained half a pound of gunpowder. The wick had been lighted, but the wind extinguished the light. An inscription was attached to the bomb, "Votes for Women! Death in ten minutes!"

(Received April 19, 9.45 a.m.) LONDON, April 18. Mr George Lansbury, ex-M.P., and Mrs Drummond were remanded at the Police Court on a charge of incitement to crime. Two Suffragettes hoisted flags on the Fife Monument. The flags were inscribed: "Death or Liberty!" The women threw leaflets, and then took refuge in a house. They bolted the door, but the police broke in the door and arrested them. A large force of police protected the Suffragettes from a huge threatening crowd, which shouted: "Duck them in the Thames." After they had been sheltered at the police station for some hours thev were released.
