NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev. D. C. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, this evening wired as follows:
Showers have fallen on the eastern .coasts of both islands, and the weather ha-s been generally cold and changeable, with strong east to southeasterly winds northward of Cook Strait, but more variable further south. The barometer is very high in the isoxith. Present indications are for a disturbance to the north-east-ward of the Dominion, which is likely to cause unsettled weather for a' time and occasional showers over the North Island, especially on the East Coast, with strong south-easterly winds. Moderate to strong easterly breezes are probable in the south, with fair to cloudy and cold weather generally. The barometer is unsteady in the north, but little movement is anticipated at present.
