ANT-JAPANESE LAWS.
PROTEST BY JAPAN. CALIFORNIAN BOYCOTT PROPOSED. (Received Last Night, 11 o'clock.) TOKTO, April 14. Japan has protested against California's anti-Japanese legislation. Irritation is growing throughout the country. One party, proposes an anti-Calif orniah boycott. , The, newspapers describe the act of the Californian Legislature as great a breach of treat-v rights.as the Panama Bill. The Chamber of . Commerce has cabled to the Chambers of Commerce nt San Francisco and Los Angeles emphasising the probable loss of trade.. The foreign press declare the situation to be an object lesson to Japan, where foreigners are not allowed to own land, despite the Diet's law of 1910, which has not been promulgated.
