A SOLICITOR'S DOWNFALL.
COMMITTED TO ROTOROA. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DANN'EVIRKE, Last Night. Application was mad-a by the police to the Magistrate to-day to have a solicitor named Cecil Glass Downes, wlio appeared on a charge of drunkenness, committed to Rotoroa. He had been there previously for a term. Counsicil for accused asked for a chance, so that hig. client could be sent to Australia for a fresh start. The Magistrate said he did not think he should offer facilities 'for the export o£ the Dominion's degenerates, to anotllfer colony. :T?' Australia would only invite a continuance of his present conduct, and would be criminal until the drink was out of him. Accused was committed to Rotoroa for twelve months'.
