A POLICE RAID.
ON ALLEGED £AM2XG -HOUSE. (By Telegraph —Try"- dmciction.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The police this afternoon raided the premises of a haiv.lresser in Mercer ■st'iv-t, and arreted the occupier, Gilbert Henry P:■'.«, on a charge of keeping a <: nimon gaming-housa. Two other men named Nelson Williamson aaid Rertam Cowles Williams were apprehended on charges of assisting in the management of the place, while Frank Campbell and Frederick Moss were taken into custody for being found on the premi&es. All the men wore subsequently charged at the Magistrate's Court with the offences mentioned, and were remanded, till the 18th. Bail was allowed.
