WAIPOUA SALE, Messrs James Macintosh and Co. report having held their usual weekly sale in their Waipoua (Masterton). saleyards on Wednesday, 9th April,, when they offered a good yarding of sheep and cattle well above advertisad numbers, which met with only fair competition, consequently, prices, were not as good as last week, but the bulk„.of the entry was sold at the following rates: Good 4 and 5-year ewes 12s- 6d, .m. ewes 8s 6d, f.m. ewes (poor condition) os *6d, 5& >Bd, (is 2d to 7s lOd, 4-tooth ewes (small) 10s, [b.f. lambs to 10s 2d, shorn b.f. do. 6* 3d to 7s 2d, mixed shorn do. 5s 8d to 6s 3d, 2-tooth ewes- lis, old rams 10s 6d, dairy cows £6, store cows £2 15s to £3, dair yheifers £4 to £4' 7s, weaners 20s to 275. MASTERTON STOCK SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mer cantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: We submitted a very fair entry of sheep to a. good attendance of buyers at Sblway yesterday. Competition was hardly so keen as at the previous sale, and we passed in several ]\>ts under the hammer, but with the exception of two small lines we made a total clearance afterwards. Good forward ewes made from 9s 6d to lis, cull ewes 6s 3d to & Id, small 2-toctfi ewes 10s, cull lambs 6s 3d, 2-tooth wethers 14s 2d, dairy cows to £7 7s 6d. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report: At our Sol way sale yesterday a fair yarding of sheep and a small yarding of cattle was offered. Owing to the inclement weather a number of the lines advertised did not come forward. On account of Mr W. W. Laing we offered a nice line of 650 heavy-skinned, good-conditioned wethers, and after spirited competition these were sold under the hammer at 14s lid. Some other prices realised were as under: Forward' ewes 12s, store ewes Bs, 2-tooth wethers 14s, cull ewes 5s 4d. In cattle we sold on account of Mr T. P. Lett a nice line of dairv heifers (close to calving) at £6 6s.' PAHJATUA STOCK SALE. Mes&rs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Pabiatua salf, held yesterday, as follows: W"- offered an exceptionally heavy yarding of sheep. The cattle were mostly 18month and steers, although all classes were represented. The demand was good for 2-J-yea* steers, practically all selling under the hammer; 18-month steers met only fair competition', but we effected several wiles privately. We have to report a satisfactory; sale, a large clearance being made. Quotations: 3}-year bullocks £5 19s to £6, 3-year steers £5 8s to £5 lis, good 2j-year steers £5 to £5 8s 6d, others £4 lis to £4 14s, good 18-month steers. £4 4s 6d, others£3 5s to £3 14js, good weaner steers 25s to &ss, fair sorts 17s to 20s, fat cows £4 18s to £4 19s, empty cows £2 10s to £3 10s, cows in calf £4 4s to £4 10s, Holstein cross weaner heifers £2 7s 6d, 2-tooth wetJiers 13s 3d to 13s 6H, good shorn lambs 8s Bd, s.m. ewes 8s to 8s fid. JOHNSONVILLE STOCK SALE. JOHNSON VILLE, Last Night. Messr*. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows: A good yarding of bullocks and a medium one of sheep came forward, and sold well at late rates; fine heavy bullocks £ll to £ll 2s 6d, prime do. £9 15s to £lO, lighter do. £9 2s 6d to £Q 7s 6d, vealers 31s |to 375, extra, prime ewes 16s lid to 17s id, good do. 15s to 15s 6d, plain do 14s to 14s 6d, medium wethers 17s 2d, plain do Iss 6d to 15s Bd, prime lambs 14s to 14s 4d, medium do 12s 6d to 13s 6d.
