AN IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT. GOVERNMENT'S OFFER AGAIN REJECTED. SECRETARY OF UNION WITHDRAWS. (Received Last Night, 8.30 o'clock.) SYDNEY, April B. Though there has been no aerious extension of the strike so far, several significant developments have occurred. ; Sixty fuel-men employed in isupplying engine tenders with coal at Eveligh, have struck, and! the place has been picketed. The first gang of twenty left without explanation, and two other gangs which arrived later, did not start work. Two men only remained working, and were unable to keep up the supply of the engines, which are jjjling up in the yards. v The full effect of- the development' will not ,be felt until to-morrow, as most of the engines on the night runs have their tenders well coaled. Another mass meeting of the Railwaymen's Association was held t. day, when Mr Oatt®, secretaiy of the Association, strongly urged the men to accept the Government's offer; which, by his effort, had been kept open till noon. He declared that the strikers had compelled the Government to grant them a tribunal exceeding in power any previously available under the industrial legislation. Amid much excitement a show of hands was taken,- which resulted in the Government's offer ibeing again rejected. Mir Catts demanded a ballot, and this resulted similarly. , Mr Catts thereupon-intimate J ' he would not attend:'future meetings in connection with the strike. 'Would .be with them in the spirit. He then left the meeting. During the day the Railway Cuirmission issued a notification that unless the Darling Harbour goods porters resumed before nine o'clock tomorrow morning they would be ineligible for re-employment,
