THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. "LORD AND PEASANT." Saturday night yaw the usual packed lions: 1 at the popular T'.-P. Electric Theatre to witness the change of programm?, when Lord and Peasant," an Edison feature, headed the bill, giving a tragedy in high life, 1 when a peasant- was pitted .against lord. "A .Struggle ~oif Hearts" is a Lubin drama df considerable merit, while "Two Little Rangers," a Selig film, provided all that was inieo?s>sary in the Western element. "The Singer" is an unusual street type of drama, which a,pp;als to all. It features the popular "Misy Alice Joyce," and she plays her part in her usual unapproachable style. The story, gives a plaintive and appealing side tb the life of a poor street singer gprl in the streets' of New York. "Alkali Ik; Stung" presents Augustus Carney again in one of his funniest Western series. The latest topical items (will be illustrat?d by "I'lie Eclair Journal." > Two films of interests will .be "Forest to Mill" and "The Preservation of Animals." The comfdy section is well represented, and includes "Sanctioning of Mr Stout," "A Love Philtre" and "Bessie's Dream." To-morrow night will be a benefit performance for. the Wairarapa Amateur Athletic Cliib.' During the show Mr John Payne, M.P., will present the Shield. For Wednesday's change "Hie Secret Treaty," 3200 foot special Xordisk, is announced.
