The wedding was celebrated in Auckland recently of Mrs Maude Reardon, fcjixth daughter of Mr ojid Mrs J. D. (Reardon, of Ma-sterton, to Mr Frederick Harvey McGregor, of Auckland. On Saturday afternoon the staff of the W.F.O.A. presented Mr Roy Tait with a travelling bag and a pair of hair brushes, on the occasion of ihis departure for Taumarunui, At the meeting of the Dannevirke -jorough- Council on Friday, evening, the resignation of Mr F. G. Mag-, nuson (formerly of Ma&terton) as Town OLrk was accepted. The Hon. W.- F. M'assey (Prime •Minister) }was fifty-seven years of age on Saturday last". Mr. O. In the early days he was engaged in the carrying business. A grown up family, including Messrs J. J., W\, T .and M. Knight, of Eketahuna, are left to mourn their lass. There was a large gathering ci railway men at the Masterton station. on Saturday evening,, to bid farewell to their departing stationmaster (Mr G. Falla). Mr Wilson, chief clerk, presided. He said they were all very sorry to lose their -worthy S.M., but at the same time they, were pleased to know that he had been promoted. In speaking of ■Mr Falla's many estimable qualities a railway officer,. Mr Wilson also referred to tile courtesy and consideration which he had at all time? displayed towaa'ds those with whom lie had be:-n brought in. contact. They were not only parting with a. capable railway officer, but a true friend and a gentleman. On behalf of the railway toen and earners of Ma-st?rton, he asked Mr Falla to accept a few small tokens of their esteem.
