ANSWER TO SIR THOS. LIPTON. (Received Last Night, '9.30 o'clock.) . NEW YORK, March 25. Tho New York Yacht Club, in replying to Sir Thomas Lipton's request that the .size of the defending boat be defined, said it would bo a violation of the rule s governing tho America Cup. The deed of gift permitted the limitation of the size of the defender's or challenger's boat.
