The Council of the Incorporated Law Institute is not pleased with the latest appointments t-o the High Court, and has forwarded the Hon. A. Fisher, Commonwealth Prime Minister, resolutions that in order to ensure that the High Court, and the Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Courts of tli€> States sliall return in the fullest measure the confidence of the pxibl'c, it is essential that appointments thereto should be mad*? from tho foremost ranks of the profession. One more resolution states that the Council notices with regret tire two recent appointments, and feaiv; that a dangerous precedent has been created.
