A BATHER'S COMPLAINT.
(To tho Editor.) Sir.—Broaching; a question of tho soxos, in our small river hero wo have ample opportunity for indulging in tho natatorial art. But, lot mo ask, why should a man, taking his family bathing, be postered by certain youths (or hobbledehoys), who seem to take possession of a certain part of tho '.stream, simply clad in tho costume of "Adam before tho Kali." It is certainly not very elevating for people bringing down their young children to bathe to witness a young fellow of about 1(5 or 17 years of age, disporting himself nude; and when spoken to on tho question, to give nothing but insults. Why not, as tho river is such a- favorite bathing place, have some sort of reservation placed ; or restriction as to costume, placed there? In Little C'oogoo (Sydney) there are hundreds upon 'hundreds who bathe there (mixed bathing) and you would not witness a spectacle such as a family of Masterton children were witnesses of on Sunday afternoon. Make rules for the bathing in the river, and the place will be eagerly sought.—l am, etc..
