CASE AGAINST SOLICITOR AND BANKRUPT. (Received March 10, 10 a.m.} LONDON, Mardli 9. In the case in which Arthur Newton, a well known solicitor, and Berkley Bennett, an undischarged, bankrupt, of Half-moon Street, are charged with ' defrauding 'Hans •Thorsch of -£23,00*0, Thorsch gave evidence that he was induced to invest£l4,soo in Manchurian Concessions, Ltd. He had not received any return. Subsequently Newton and other s persuaded him to invest £16,000 in alleged land and timber concessions nil 'Canada. Ntewton T » bail has been fixed at £IO,OOO.
