Our Own Correspondent. , r DRYEIt'S ROCK. The Dryer's Rock School held its annual picnic 011 Tuesday, March 4th, 011 the property owned by Mrs Power, the weather being glorious, with just enough wind to keep the people cool. There was a large attendance of people, to witness the races, and take part in the enjoyable games during the day. During the running events several spectators seemed to • like kissing the ground, as the cour.se was a little 011 the greasy side. In the single men's race, Mr H. 0. Wiiton won by a big margin. The races ar.d games were very interesting, and in the married men's race Mr W. Jeffries, who was beyond scratch, won on the tape, the other two falling. A nice piece of bush on t'he spot made things glorious for lunch. Numerous and valuable prizes Mere presented to the winners, by Mr W. Budd, who 54ave a .speech. The people were so much interested' in the day'.s outing that tliey forgot all about their work. Everyone seemed pleased, and thanked the teacher (Miss Matthews) and Committee for the prizes and manner in which the picnic was carried out.
