TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
THE NEW SECRETARY. MR J. T. M. HORNSBY APPOINTED. The Managers of the :Masterton Technical School rriet last evening, primarily -with the object of appointing a. Director-Secretary. At their last meeting the Managers decided that, with a view to extending the influence of the school and strengthening work of organisation, it wag. desirable that the secretary should have increased powers and responsibilities. Accordingly it was decided to eall for applications for a Director-Secretary, at a salary of £BO per aintuum. Nine applications were received, and the appointment fell to Mr J. T. M, Hornsby. The new secretary is well known in the district, having represented the Wairarapa in Parliament for a number of yea re. Latterly he had been devoting a good deal of his time,to elocutionary classes in Masterton. Mr Hornsby ' possesses considerable ability, and enters enthusiastically upon any work he undertakes. it is probable that .he will take up his residence in Masterton.
