CARTERTON.
Our Own Correspondent. Mrs MaeGoun and her little daughter left Carterton on Wednesday for Auckland, where they will'stay for an indefinite -period on account of the little girl's health. Mr Davey, of Belvedere, who has been leasing Mr N. J. .Dnysh's farm there, has purchased a property at Hawke's Bay, and will leave for Hastings in a month or two. The postponed cricket match, Carterton v. Greytown, will be played on Saturday next on Carrington Park. The Carterton team will be: L. Beard, If. Hart, Fenwick, Tunnicliffe, Churchill, Hutchinson, Smart, C. Reid, Thompson, Phelps and another. Miss L. Robinson, of Kaikariki, Hukanui, has been appointed assist-ant-mistress at the Belvedere School, in place of Miss Bodell, who has resigned to take up duties at Akatarawa. The Carrington rural mail delivery was to have commenced by motor cycle, on Saturday, but owing to theofficer who had to undertake, the work not being acquainted with the working of the Department's motor cycle, he had to go to Wellington to receive instruction. As soon as. he is competent the motor delivery will commence.
