CHARGE OF PERJURY
SEQUEL TO WAIHT STRIKE; THE ACCUSED ACQUITTED. » (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last' N ; -;ht. Walter Edmund Harvey, the Arbitrationist, who was arrested in Sydney on a charge of perjury, appeared at the Supreme Court to-day. Accused was alleged to have coiriinixted perjury at the inquest on Evans, who wa.s fatally injured during the strike disturbances in connection vrith the Waihi trouble. The jury icturned a verdict of not guilty, considering that the accused was suffering from severe mental strain, with appreciating the importance of what lie said. The Crown had failed to establish intent to mislead justice. The prisoner Avas thereupon discharged.
