MASTERTOfN STOCK SALE. | Messrs Abraham and Williams, . '"Ltd., report on their Mastei'ton stock sale, held on Wednesday, as under We yarded over 3000 sheep, _ most ewes, and 150 bullocks, and witn the exception of one line of cattle, sold , the whole of our-entry mostly <>.t auction. The attendance was large, and oompetitioin on the whole satisfactory, .although at times bids had to be dragged from the purchasers. We yarded several pens of good 2-tooth ewes,' which sold at prices quite satisfactory to the vendors. Mr John Holmes' (Matahiwi) sheep made 15.s 3d, whilst those offered on hehalf of Mrs Henry Holmes made 14s for Lincoln and 14s 6d for Romney ewes. A line of 471 cull 2-tooth eweg from Brancepeth station sold' at 12s 3d, and 147 on behalf of Mr O. H. Beetliam 13s 2d. A line of 1100 aged e<wes (good roomy sheep) sold at prices ranging from 9s fid to 10s, which for the purpose of fattening must he considered reasonable. Quotations Grown bullocks in good condition £6 10s 6d, 2\year isteers £4 19s, 18-month steers £3 10s, 2-year Jersey bull £lO 10s, aged ewes in fresh condition &s 6d to 10s. others 8s 6d to 8s- lid, 2-tooth ewes 12s 2d to 15s 3d (according to quality and condition), small on 11 2tooth ewes 10s Bd, cull woolly lambs - 5s 3d.
