EAT STOCK SALE
Messrs James Macintosh and Co., report having held a very successful sale of fat stock at the Solway show on: Tuesday, 18th February, when they offered, as advertised, a large entry of fat ewes, wethers and lambs, which brought very satisfactory prices, bidding being very keen throughout the sale. "We topped the market with a pen of lambs, on account of Mr Wm.. Howard Booth, which (brought 335. Other prices brought well above vendor's ideas of value, which are as follows: 5 Down maiden ewes 22s 6d, 24s 6d, to 30s; Southdown wethers, 19s, 21s, to 23s 6d. 5 Down cross lambs, 17s 6d, 18s 6d, 21s to 23s 6d. Maiden Romwey ewes 19s to 22s 6d. Fat wethers 235, 255, 30s, to 40s. Fat ewes, 255, 31s, to 355. Fat lambs 21s, 22 5, 25s 6d to 335. Fat cattle were also well competed for, and brought good prices, viz., Fat heifers £7 10s, fat steers £9.
