GERMAN EXPEDITION
RESCUE PARTY I'AILS. POSITION OF SCIENTISTS CRITICAL. (Received Last Night 11.15 o'clock.) CHRISTIAN].A, Vebruaiy 17. The Norwegian expedition tailed to rescue the German scientists, and has returned to Advent Bay. Terrific thunderstorms were encountered, and some of the rescue party were, frostbitten. Seven of the dogs perished, and 'others were in a pitiable condition. Fresh dogs arc awaited from Norway. The position of the Germans is critical.
