The Minister of Works hfi-s stopped expenditure where it is not urgently n>ouired. because be has no mmiey! The Hon. A. L. Herdman has refused to liberate, a man who was committed to Rotoi Roa T«innd without making some inquiry. What next mav we ox7,oct to hapnen? Will the ' Post masterGeneral send memos, on public business over the telegraph wires? Or the Ministe- of Native Affairs attend a "i-vvn?" Really, the position is becoming serious?
