CHANGING OF OPINIONS.
The Ministerial journal in Wellington is working itself into a perfect frenzy because the Hen. F. M. B. Fisher is, by his platform utterances converting quondam Liberals into ardent Reformers. The journal in question went so far as to use the name of Mr\ Fisher's dead father in a disrespectful way. on order to damn the Minister in the eyes of the public. It now attempts to heap odium upon him because his views on the land question have been modified. The Minister very tritely retorts that only fools are consistent. By that he means that the person who could not change his opinion has no opinion to change. He might also have quoted Disraeli, and Gladstone, and Chamberlain, and a few other distinguished statesmen in support of his dictum. But ir were supererogatory to endeavour '■"> convince a journal that is "consistent."
