DEMONSTRATION AT WANGANUt (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUi, Last Night. lOver seven hundred firemen fromall parts of Now Zealand are now in. town for the demonstration and conference which takes place this week. To-day there was a mon/ster Churchparade, attended by 675 firemen, as well as territorial officers and tvv>, bands. At the various Churches, references were mad© to the Antarctic? heroes, and the bands played the "Dead March" after the services. An official welcome was tendered the visiting firemen at the Opera, House by the Mayor of the town and the member for the district. This afternoon the visitors were taken to CastleclilF. Iho conference begins to-morrow morning, and the competitions will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, when it is expected there will bo a great influx of visitors.
