CIUCKET. CARTERTON B v. HOCKEY CUB. Tho Thursday Association's competitions were continued yesterday afternoon in unfavourable weather. Carterton B played Hockey Club on tho Park Oval. The former scored 4-1 in the first innings, and the latter responded with 5.1 for eight wickets. Tho scores wore as following:—

Tn the Park Lake yesterday afternoon the Mastorton Swimming Club got off a 75 yards handicap. There were ten competitors, and a verv interesting race resulted in H. "Williams winning by a narrow margin from G. Treador. Tho time —(>-! -l-osei —was very good, when it is considered that the swimmers had to contend witi a nasty cross wind. Tin-re wore a considerable number of spectators present, and. the event created a good deal of interest. The result was as follows; — FT. Williams (!)sec) 1 G. Treador (T>see) 2 F. CYCLING
Fnder the auspices of the Masterton Cycling Club two events were decided on tho Park Oval yesterday evening. The weather was most unfavourable. a hi'-di wind blowing across tho Oval. Tn the circumstances times wore out of tho question, but the racinrr i\as none tho less 'ntcn'sting. IT. Fiaw« met with a nasty soil! in the mile and a half event. but lie was fortunately not -seriously hurt. Tho results were as follow :
Throe-ouarter Mile Race —-T, Clarke (3') yds) 1: H. Flaw- HOyds) 2: L. Davis ('l4oyds') 3. Clark won fairly easily by two yards. One and n-bnlf Miles Unco.—.f. Clarke fSOvcls) 1 : C. Taller <'i7ovds) Bookman (170 yds") 3. A c'oso finish. Clarke winning by a wheel.
