VALUABLE ADVICE FOR OBTAINING A BEAUTIFUL COMPLEXION. BY COURTESY OF A LADY EEADER. While recently glancing through a ladies' paper one of our readers noticed a simple formula said to quicklv banish all skin irritations and greatly beautify the complexion. Having given considerable study to chemistry, she was immediately* interested by the peculiar combination of ingredients. Her skin was roiisrh aiul sore from exposure to the sun I and wind, so she determined to have the lotion made up at once. She applied night and morning with a soft cloth, and in less than a week, all disagreeable traces of sunburn', rash, and blemishes had entirelv vanished ; her complexion was soft and smooth; m fact, her appearance was so greatly improved that her own mother was astonished, and asked the ranse of the sudden transformation. This led to another trial'of tho same lotion, and, despite the mother's acre, her skin became dear and velvety! But what was even more amazing, the lines and wrinkles which had formed round her eyes and on her forehead, began to smooth out and gradually disappear. Both mother and daughter were overjoyed at this unlooked-for result, and wondered if •there was not some way of giving the benefit of their to other women. They finally decided tn write to one or two of the principal papers- about it. Unon receiving their communication, we gladly consented to publish for those interested j the valuable-formula which they had found. Tt calls for 2ox rosowater. : one drain tincture of benzoin, and 2 jounces Flowers of Oxzoin. the mixture, to be well shaken before using. i We aro informed that it is quite inj expensive, and can be made up by any good chemist, or easily prepared at home. A prominent member of the Faculty of Medicine of Paris, who specialises in the earo of tho skin, examined this formula for us, and states that the lotion made therefrom is perfeetlv harmless, and, besides being excellent for the complexion, is also unexcelled for quickly eradicating blotches, pimples blnek- ; heads, etc., which are so disfiguring to the skin. *
