Notwithstanding that drizzling rain fell throughout tlio day. 13.000 people attended the Trumper Benefit Match. The wicket was slow. .Macartney and Barbour gave a brilliant display. Trumper, on going to the wicket, received a great ovation. The Rest cf Australia made 358. New South Wales have lost three wickets for '2l-1 runs, Barbour (86), Macartney (91). Trumper (not 0ut.27) being the chief scorers.
