CRICKET

CIVIL SERVICE v. AMATEUR ATHLETIC. A friendly match was played on the Masterton Park Oval yesterday afternoon between teams representing tho Civil Service and Amateur Athletic Clubs. Both teams were wrongly represented, and an interesting game resulted. Civil Service baried first and compiled 81, Williams (15) and Wylio (14) being the only double figure, scorers. Athletic respgjuled with 145, of which R. Hickson made 49, E. Douglas 34, Long 21, W. Welch 12 and Read 10. In their second attempt Civil Service scored 115, the chief run-getters being Jackson 35, Richards 21, Devon port 15 and Gvey 15. The scores wore as follow : Civil Service.—First Innings: R.
