• —-*~ THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. "VANQUISHED." To-night at the T.-P. Electric Theatre the current programme will be repeated, when "the Nordisk success — "Vanquished"—should again draw a large audience. "Captain Midnight" is a fine presentation of Australian bushranging life. Some very fine dramas are shown in support, including "An Equine Hero," a Selig production showing an all but human horse, "Bed Saunder's Sacrifice," a Western story by Lubin, "A Message from Niagara," a. story of opium smugglers by the Thanhauser Company, and "Billy McGrath's Love Letters," an Essanay film savouring of humour, A rather exceptional comedy is "Alkali Ike's Pants." Other films include "On the Beo," "Raffle's Escape from Prison" and "The Sporting Editor." On Saturday night this enterprising firm will show two special occlusives, tho first of their latest film contracts. "A Sister's Ordeal," 3200 feet in length, is a sensational Western subject worked to a high pitch of. realism. "Without a Conscience," is a 3000 foot Nordisk feature of a. rather unique plot. Another long film will bo shown in "Tho Emerald Necklace." which is StiOOft long and shows a struggle in schemes between two cracksmen. There will bo a special matinee at 2.30 to-mof-row when all of to-night's' programme wiiJ bo shown.
