IN THE UNITED STATES. THE FREE LIST HILL. (Received February 3, 8 a.m.) WASHINGTON, February 2. Farmers are protesting against- the Democratic Free Li sit Bill on the ground that the incluson of cereals, meats and other foodstuffs will give the Canadians more advantages than the defunct Reciprocity "Bill. President Wilson insists on the passage of the Bill. Mr 0. W. Underwood pointed out the Free List Measure was defeated last session in Congress. President Wilson says that the Congress Democrats will break faith with the people if they do not take stops to reduce the coot of living. Canadian press comments indicate that Canada will thus gav.i as many advantges as if tlie Reciprocity Bill was pasted, whilst giving nothing in return.
