('Received Last Night, 9.35 o'clock.) MELBOURNE, February 3. The Federal Government has decided to pay New South Wales £•873,000 for a. dockyard on Cockatoo Island. SYDNEY, February 3. Thomas James Dibley, fight pro motor and professional boxer hay died, as the result of,having his skull fractured and brain lacerated during a street squabble on 24th January. James Maher, nineteen years of age, a labourer, has been arrested on a charge of the manslaughter of Dibley. The St. Nicholas apartments at Sacramento were burned while the guests were at breakfast. Five of the guests are known to have perisho-d. ' The fire originated through a defective oil-burner in the basement of the building. ' SYDNEY,. February 3.
