This will be tne week following Hawke'n Bay Show. Mr' J as. DsUrucb, who has been caretaker of the showgrounds of - the Wairarapa P. and .A. Society for some time past, has "resigned the-po-sition, and will short-lv leaving to take up his residence w.ith liis soil in Mastcrton.. The total cost of repairs to the Waioliine bridge at pres>:>ii! 'amounts to £129, with two or three accounts to come in. Some £6O of that sum lias been spent in providing watchmen day and night at ,both ends of the .bridge. Some thirteen new members were elected at a meeting of the Wairarapa A. and P. Society at Carterton on Friday afternoon. The Rev. W. J. Elliott, at one time in charge of the Methodist Church circuit hero, and now of Whantrarei, is at present on a visit to Carterton.
