The sun was fiercely hot for the ■ tennis match, Britain v. victoria, ana the games were played under trying conditions. . Dixon lost tjie first set, being somewhat disconcerted by Campbell s clover playing. Dixon's .serving and cross court work were brilliant, and ho Avon tho next two sets, being. ' superior in every department of the game. Heath's match with Beamish was exciting, hard hitting being a feature of the match. Heath looked a winner in the first two sets, but lost his direction and- control. 1 Parke played poorly in the doubles,' but Dixon was seldom in trouble, and Dnnlop's occasional brilliant volleying enlivened matters. Brookes was always ready when needed, hi.s service being seldom at fault. The results vfere as follows: — ■ •• Dixon hra f .
