NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. (By Telegraph—Pret* Attociatim-) WELLINGTON, Last Night. Ihe Rev D. 0. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, tins evening issued the following The barometer continues l>elow normal everywhere with but little grading, though a small area of low pressure passed with rain in the south during the night. Rain also toll on i the West Coast to-day, but warm and fair to cloudy weather has predominated. A westerly gale is reported this afternoon at Cape Farewell Spit, but variable winds have prevailed, i Present indications are for unsettled and cloudy weather Tain is probable in most parts of the country. Conditions still threatening northward of the Dominion, and .s tropical disturbance is quite likely to cause heavy rain, and strong to southeasterly winds - over the North Island 1 withiln the next few days. The barometer has a falling tendency in the north, but is rising temporarily in the south 'with moderate to strong westerly wind.s.'
