The Rev D. €, Bates, of the Me*«orological Office, tn.xa evening issued the following:— " : The barometer ha-s fallen steadily in the north, and has been very unsteady in the «mth. Warm .and changeable weather has prevailed with variable winds. Present indications are for a falling ' barometer everywhere, with easterly winds prevailing and increasing, especially in the northern and southernmost districts. Warm and humid conditions with increasing haze and cloudiness generally with rain 'following after about 36 hours. Conditions are threatening, both in the Northern and southern-most'-'parts, and there are indications of the formation of a cyclone' northWard of New Zealand, . .
