TWO MOKE SCOTTISH PURCHASES. Two more fashionably bred Scottish Clydesdales, are about to find a, homo in New Zealand. The animals ■have been purchased in Scotland by Mr JoJin.Ewaii, of Drummond, Southland, from the stud of Mr T. Purdie ■Somerville, Da ndi lands. Laiarkshire. One of the Clydesdales is the successful breeding stallion Ardimsersay Prince, 13250. now eight years old. He is got by the Cawdor Cup ' champion Prince Alexander, 8899, one of the last foals, and one of tlio best, left by Merryton Prince was got by the famous Baron's PnY! 9112, and jhis grand-daJn was a rnaro by a son of Darnley, 222 —namely, Knight of Lothian, 4489. Mr Ewan's new purchase tlras has in him the finest strains of blood known to the Clydesdale world. He is described as a big-sized dark-coloured horse, with splendid feet and legs, and lie is a gay and true mover. Ardimersay Prince was sold at a long price at the Hatton sale, and since then he lias been very popular with breeders, and his stock have done well in the shmvyard and at public auction. A yrailing by him was sold recently for £9O. A number of others have made much •more money.- Accompanying this hiorso is a four-year-old mare got by Scotland's Choice, 13732, out of a dam by Pride and Blacon, 10837, with a grand-dam by Baron's Pride. %
