NEW ZEALAND FORECAST. (By Teltgraph—Pres* Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. The Rev D. 0. Bates, of the Meteorological Office, tins evening issued the following:— . Strong northerly and westerly winds have continued, especially in and southward of Cook Strait, with rain on the West Coast and in southern districts. Much mist and fog' in parts, but sultry weather conditions have prevailed in Canterbury and Hawke's Bay. The barometer has been unsteady, but ha« fallen everywhere. Present indications are for strong westerly winds, veering t:: southerly everywhere, in about 24 hours, the barometer falling in the meantime, but then rising in the south. Squally and changeable weather may be expected, hazy and clo 1 cd renditions increasing and rain probably following generally.
